Join us for an exclusive opportunity to delve into the art of Kintsugi, a restoration technique that embraces imperfection and highlights the beauty in brokenness. Utilising a blend of lacquer and gold powder, this method transforms fractured ceramics into unique works of art.

Each damaged piece carries its own memories and emotions, and the damage condition of each object varies. Thus, a singular approach to restoration may not suit every item. In this workshop, you will learn various restoration techniques. The lacquer used in Kintsugi serves as an exceptional adhesive for mending cracks, ensuring that the restored pieces retain both functionality and aesthetic allure. In recent years, we have witnessed a resurgence of skilled restoration artists, each bringing diverse techniques to the fore, adapting their methods to the specific needs of the object at hand.

Sharon Wong has dedicated years to studying and practicing Kintsugi and ceramic restoration. She trained under restorers, esteemed masters, and artists in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and China, cultivating a broad perspective on diverse restoration traditions. With extensive experience restoring ceramics for Touch Ceramics, Sharon combines technical expertise with a warm, patient teaching style, guiding participants to discover both skill and philosophy in their own practice.

This intimate workshop promises to enrich your restoration toolkit. Spaces are limited—do not miss this chance to engage with this profound craft!
